S.P.I.O.T.A. Cornerstone Award from Newcastle Building Society, (click a photograph below to see a larger version)

The certificate representing the awardOn 9th August 2012, at Middlesbrough Football Club's Riverside Stadium, SPIOTA received an award from the Newcastle Building Society. The Cornerstone Award was won by SPIOTA against competition from Darlington, Middlesbrough and Stockton, for their work in maintaining the colourful tubs of flowers in Stokesley, and in particular for the design and installation of the new ziggurat in Market Square.

As well as the certificate photographed on the left, the Newcastle Building Society also awarded a Cornerstone crystal trophy, and £200 to SPIOTA. They have also agreed to sponsor the planting of the bed outside the new Library in North Road.

SPIOTA was represented at the award ceremony by Fred Lee, a committee member, Eric Lee, the treasurer of SPIOTA, and Derek Whiting, a committee member who organises photography and publicity.
